Welcome to Art Class!
Hello, my name is Lynne Keffaber , I teach art in the mornings at Sharp Creek Elementary and in afternoons at Northfield (Kelly Schuler does the mornings at NHS). I teach grades 4, 5, and 6 at Sharp Creek and a variety of high school courses at Northfield. I look forward to teaching students how to create art in numerous ways, using a variety of materials, and sharing all the unformation that goes with the production of art.
High School 2-D Art
We have 4 levels of high school 2-D
High School Ceramics
Ceramics is designed for students who have an interest in working with clay. Students will have experiences in making functional along with sculptural pieces, using a variety of techniques. They will need to have well thought out forms and designs along with good craftsmanship.
Students taking Digital Design engage in sequential learning experiences encompassing art history, art criticism, aesthetics, and art production. Students will create and design works which incorporate graphic design, typography, illustration, and computer technologies. In addition, students will identify relationships between context, form, and function. This course leads to the beginning of students building a portfolio of computer generated images. Student will complete 14-16 projects per semester.
In photography students explore all aspects of traditional 35mm black and white photography, from basic composition to the technical elements of producing fine art photography. Students will study art from historical references, art criticism, and modern trends in media with subject matter and composition.
